The mentioned company started using the green sand method to obtain any kind of piece: it was a craft work and melting with coking coal, but with time and using the new technologies, the company has developed using other production methods, such as the gravity die casting over permanent moulds (better known as chilled mould) or also the pressure die casting, as this last one comprises our biggest production. |
In 1960, Fundición Francisco Vanrell becomes the first company in Menorca that buys a cold chamber die-casting machine to cast with cold chamber pressure CF 10 tonnes injection by pedals with manual opening and close, used to make brass and aluminium pieces such as: lunch and chicken forks, women shoe heels, pieces for Sumco calculators, etc.
In 1969, we also become the first to produce with a hot chamber pressure with a semi-automatic machine of 20 tonnes producing Zamak pieces such as: paper knifes, seven day bracelets, bangles, sword hilts, shave sets, etc.
In 1994, due to an important increase of the production, we moved to a factory premises that we built in the Mahón Industrial Estate (POIMA), with a usable space of 800 square metres, so we could supply and improve our productivity and offer a better service and quality to our clients. Nowadays we manufacture there, mixing two elements, more than 60 years experience in the sector and the more developed technology for the pressure die casting. |
